TEAM MEMBERS
Ian Robertson has spent over forty years working in all facets of the professional audio industry: as a touring sound engineer, designing and optimizing sound systems, and as a founding partner of a Halifax, Nova Scotia-based audio provider in the 1980s.
Throughout his life and career, Ian has been driven by a deep curiosity – an essential need to understand ‘why?’ – that has led him to become a dedicated early adopter of emerging technologies in audio. In addition to leading seminars and educational events in the application of many of GerrAudio’s product lines, Ian (a Smaart user since 1998) became a registered Smaart Instructor in 2017.
César Lamschtein has 25+ years of experience in pro audio, in Latin America, USA and Europe. He is deeply involved with the Audio Engineering Society and is today the Vice-president of the AES for the Latin American Region. An all-rounder, he has logged flight time experience in studio music production, live sound, audio production teaching, system design and optimization, audio consulting and design of installed systems, recording studio design and monitoring calibration as well as technical document writing and translation in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. He is currently a formal student in the field of forensic audio. When he is not confined, either voluntarily or unwittingly, he enjoys traveling, learning and sharing experiences with new and old friends throughout the world.
Nathan Lively has 17 years of experience in pro audio, in 8 major cities across 3 countries. His podcast, Sound Design Live, has surpassed half a million downloads and has featured interviews with people like Ken “Pooch” Van Druten, Bob McCarthy, Robert Scovill, Dave Rat, and Scott Sugden. He has published over 200 articles in Pro Sound News, The Pro Audio Files, Soulsound, SoundGirls, Behind The Mixer, and Sound Design Live. As a sound engineer, he has worked with John McLaughlin and the Ringling Bros. Circus, and has toured all the way from Austin, Texas to Macau. As a sound designer, he has been recognized by the San Francisco Theatre Critics Circle with Excellence In Theatre Sound Design. As a musician, he has performed at SXSW with the internationally-acclaimed musical group Zé Dos Frangos.
